The Syracuse Starks beat the Sacramento Redlegs, 6-3, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. The Starks got a fine performance from right fielder Pepe Savinon, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times. The win takes Syracuse to 2-3.

Syracuse used a timely hit from Tom Bancroft to get the win. The shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Starks on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
