Polar Bears Snatch 3-2 Win
|
Nathan Shallcross did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Irving Blue Sox from losing, 3-2, to the Billings Polar Bears at Blue Sox Ballpark. Shallcross was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. António Gallegos nailed down his 1st save. The win lifts Billings to a record of 1-1.
Billings used the timely hitting of Edward Johnson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Johnson called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
