Knights Edge Black Mambas, 4-3
|
The Austin Black Mambas got a superb performance from pitcher Joel Walden. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Nolensville. The Knights won the game, 4-3. In spite of the loss, Walden was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The win was credited to Chun-yeong Byung-Ho in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Alastair England took the loss. With the win over Austin, the Knights improved to 49-53.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 15th inning, when Nolensville third baseman Zak Makepeace, facing Laurens Bancroft, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Knights the 4-3 win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Makepeace.
