Sioux Falls overcame a superlative game from Gijsbert van Veen to beat Vermont, 8-3. The Vermont pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Sioux Falls used the timely hitting of Tim O'Neal to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Pandas on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
