Fog Stun Fighting Dachsunds, 6-5
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Sunset District Fog eventually prevailed at Dog Park in Ellenburg.
The Sunset District Fog downed the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 6-5, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The Fog were led by Nicodemo Nardone, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was Marcos Salinas's in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Pedro Huerta took the loss for Ellenburg. Earning his 21st save for Sunset District was Batu Khan.
The outcome might have been different for Sunset District, had it not been for A.T. Tappman, the former first round draft pick . Tappman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Sunset District up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Tappman said after the game.
