The Milton Dogfish Head got a superb performance from catcher Dusan Kontic. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Austin. The Black Mambas won the game, 10-7. In spite of the loss, Kontic was named the player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Austin reliever Tadayuki Ito picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Ryan Long was saddled with the loss. José Lucero earned his 1st save in 3 chances.

Austin used the timely hitting of Donnie Haggard to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Mambas ahead, 9-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Austin manager Juan Cuestas.

Austin now sits at 42-50, while Milton falls to 63-29.
