Fighting Dachsunds Slip Past Calgary, 3-2
|
Calgary pitcher Mario Silva gave the Fighting Dachsunds all they could handle, but in the end, Ellenburg left Lynx Stadium with a 3-2 win. Silva allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7 innings. Ellenburg reliever Eric Manchester picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Michael Knight shouldered the loss. The 8th-place Lynx have lost 4 consecutive games.
Ellenburg used the timely hitting of Bill Knight to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Dachsunds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Knight.
