|
The Salt Lake City Buzz beat the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 7-5, at Spirits Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Gavin Okel, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Buzz bumped their record to 43-41 with this latest triumph.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Glenn Seals came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ellenburg pitcher Jeremy Parker, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Salt Lake City on top, 6-5.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Seals.
