Golden Cranes Defeat Reserves, 5-3
|
Santa Barbara starter Dermot Eridge had a strong outing against the Athletic Club KC Reserves at KC Reserve Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. In 6.1 innings, Eridge surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. The Golden Cranes, at 34-49, sit in last place in the Menard's AAA.
Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of António Amaya to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Amaya told the Santa Barbara Gazette.
