Blitzkrieg Prevail, 3-2, Over Sunset District

It was a good time at Port Huron Park, where fans came to watch the Sunset District Fog and Port Huron Blitzkrieg get after it.
Port Huron beat Sunset District at Port Huron Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Tony Ruvenacht, who earned player of the game honors. Ruvenacht, now 6-7, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Jim Harris converted his 6th save in 9 tries.
Chris McBride had a big run-scoring single for the Blitzkrieg in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Port Huron leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Aarnoud Luyks and stroked the single to left. It was his 25th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 3-1.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," McBride said.
With the victory, the Blitzkrieg record now stands at 37-36.
