Buzz Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Dogfish Head
|
The Milton Dogfish Head got a superb performance from pitcher Nick Hayes. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Salt Lake City. The Buzz won the game, 5-3. In spite of the loss, Hayes was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. Elisheba Petershwim got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Salt Lake City's record now stands at 25-32, placing them 10th in the Menard's AAA.
Salt Lake City needed the clutch hitting of Ricardo Águila to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Buzz on top, 4-3. For the game, Águila had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Águila said after the game.
