Black Mambas Turn Back Vermont, 7-6

The Vermont Lake Monsters and Austin Black Mambas provided some drama at Mamba Park.
The Austin Black Mambas turned back the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-6, at Mamba Park. Kamakakoa Kaponianani was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Dan Sanders earned the save for Austin, his 1st of the year.
Austin grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Maema Njongmeta delivered a 2-run double, to make it 7-5 in favor of the Black Mambas.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Austin manager Juan Cuestas.
The Lake Monsters, at 24-32, have lost 4 in a row.
