Fog Come Up Short at Santa Barbara
|
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Richard Edwards, the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes defeated the Sunset District Fog, 6-5. Edwards went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Golden Cranes. Robin Colcord, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 4-3. Willie Steele earned the save for Santa Barbara, his 11th.
Making an impact for the home team was Alfredo Garza. In the bottom of the fifth, the 29-year old center fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 6-1, Golden Cranes.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Santa Barbara manager Pedro León.
Santa Barbara currently is in 9th place in the Menard's AAA at 21-27.
