Rainbow Mermaids Walk It Off for 13th Win of Season
|
In a low-scoring clash between Northern Virginia and Hollywood, pitcher Ricardo García was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Northern Virginia in the 3-2 win. The winner was Northern Virginia reliever Matsuta Kikuchi, now 3-0. The loser was Matthew Fallows. With the win over Hollywood, the Rainbow Mermaids improved to 13-19.
John Juanda was the walk-off hero for Northern Virginia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainbow Mermaids shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We found a way to get it done," García said.
