Buzz Drop Red Pandas with Late Score
|
The Salt Lake City Buzz topped the Sioux Falls Red Pandas by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Doyle Berkey. Berkey went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs for the Buzz on the day. Javier Soto got the win, improving to 1-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The Buzz' win now puts them at 20-24.
Oscar Henson produced at a critical juncture for Salt Lake City. It happened in the top of the eighth with Morton Steele on the mound and Salt Lake City leading 4-3. That's when the 27-year old third baseman Henson drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
Berkey called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
