Blitzkrieg Fall Short, 5-4, at Calgary

The Calgary Lynx picked up a win at Lynx Stadium, knocking off the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 5-4. On the mound for Calgary was right-hander Mario Silva, who played a pivotal role in the win. Silva, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. The Lynx improved to 14-15.
Calgary took a 5-2 lead on Júlio Souza's 14th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Souza hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Port Huron pitcher Armando Garay visibly frustrated.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Calgary manager Juan Salinas.
