|
Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds starter Ricky McCauley was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 6-3. In 8 innings, McCauley surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Ellenburg, at 14-10, occupies third place in the Menard's AAA.
It could have been a different outcome for Ellenburg, had it not been for Mike Johnstone, the 24-year old first baseman . Johnstone contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Ellenburg up, 4-2.
"We'll savor this win," McCauley told the Ellenburg Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
