Victory Over Black Mambas Takes Milton to 8-3
|
Milton Dogfish Head starter Nick Hayes was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Austin Black Mambas, 7-2. In 6.1 innings, Hayes surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Dogfish Head, now 8-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
Milton used the timely hitting of Bobby Norris to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put the Dogfish Head on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Hayes told the Milton Gazette.
