Golden Cranes Get Close Win Over Fighting Dachsunds
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds wasted an impressive 7.1-inning effort from starter James Brandon, falling 2-1 to the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Crane Field. Santa Barbara reliever Chenor Njie picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Kini Grinter was saddled with the loss. The win moves Santa Barbara to a record of 6-4.
The Golden Cranes were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Spencer Maddox turned a 0-2 fastball from Kini Grinter into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Santa Barbara a thrilling 2-1 win.
Maddox described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
