Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Milton Dogfish Head were eager to watch Nick Hayes square off against Cecil Drabek of the visiting Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds. In the end, the Dogfish Head won the game, 11-0, with Nick Hayes earning player of the game honors. António López was credited with the save for Milton, his 1st of the season.
In the bottom of the eighth, Milton third baseman Hyeon-cheong Kim had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Kim stroked a bases-clearing double to left. It made the score 11-0, Milton. For the game, he went 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
Ellenburg manager Hunter Curtis called the blowout loss "a real stinker."
