Oaks Edge Past Northern Lions BC, 8-7
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Oakland Oaks eventually prevailed at Oakland Coliseum.
The Oakland Oaks outlasted Maximiano Agostinho and the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 8-7. Agostinho was impressive in the loss. The Thunder Bay pitcher threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. At 14-16, Oakland is in 8th place in the Third League.
Oakland took a 8-7 lead on Rafael Bregonzi's 27th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Bregonzi hit in the bottom of the 17th, left Thunder Bay pitcher Steven Crockett visibly frustrated.
"It was a test of wills," said DAshley GoAs, the Oakland skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
