Leviathan Lose to Northern Lions BC, 5-2
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC beat the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 5-2, at Great Northern Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Keaton Kringlen, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. The winner was Jorge Souza, who threw 108 pitches over 7.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits. Even with the win, the Northern Lions BC have a dismal 6-21 record.
Kringlen made an early impact for Thunder Bay when he stroked his 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Northern Lions BC on top, 3-0.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Kringlen told the Thunder Bay Gazette.
