Leviathan Lose to Northern Lions BC, 9-7
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC outlasted Vinnie Nuyten and the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 9-7. Nuyten was impressive in the loss. The Nova Scotia second baseman went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Northern Lions BC, with only their 1st win in 5 games, have not had much to write home about in 2043.

Thunder Bay used the clutch hitting of Todd Strachota to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Northern Lions BC ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Strachota told a Thunder Bay Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
