Voodoo Lose to Knights, 5-2
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Juan Romero, the Kingston Township Knights defeated the New Orleans Voodoo, 5-2. Romero went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Knights. Horiuchi Tanaka picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Dave Dunn was tagged with the loss. David Blake was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 8 save opportunities.
The Knights got a big at-bat from left fielder Ánibal Lima. For the game, Lima was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 108th hit of the season gave Kingston Township a 3-2 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Romero told the Kingston Township Citizen.
The Voodoo, now 42-66, have lost 5 in a row.
