The D.C. Divided topped the Cleveland Browns, 5-2, with designated hitter Buddy Patton playing a big role. Patton was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Divided in the win. Ray Goolsby picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-8. He struck out 3 in 5.1 innings. At 52-53, the Divided find themselves in 6th place in the Silver League.
D.C. took a 3-1 lead on Patton's 104th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which he hit off Stephen Palmer in the top of the sixth, propelled D.C. to the win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth.
