Mississippi Loses, 9-8, Despite McCoy Performance
Fans who came to Magnolia Park watched the New Orleans Voodoo and the Mississippi Mockingbirds fight to the finish.

The New Orleans Voodoo had to overcome a big game from Mississippi left fielder Daniel McCoy to leave Magnolia Park with a 9-8 victory. McCoy was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The 9th-place Voodoo have won 4 in a row.

The outcome might have been different for New Orleans, had it not been for Júlio Sahagún, the 22-year old second baseman . Sahagún stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put New Orleans up, 9-6. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"I like our mindset right now," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
