Horton Takes Charge, Blanks Greenport Saturday, June 21st, 2042 It wasn't easy but the Bompton Baby Lakers made it look that way. Starter Kyle Horton shut out the Greenport Harbor Whales despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Bompton Baby Lakers cruised to victory, 4-0. Horton allowed only 4 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." So far this year Horton has made 9 starts, tossed 67.1 innings, struck out 57 batters and walked 22. His record is 3-5 with a 2.94 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .234 batting average.
