5 Hits for Trash Pandas López
Sunday, August 31st, 2042
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. José López of the Watford City Trash Pandas had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 11-6 win over the Surprise Shockers at Shockers Field.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
José López singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
In his stats this season, López has posted a batting average of .250 with 42 hits in 168 at-bats, 1 home run and 17 RBIs. He has also scored 17 runs, walked 14 times and compiled a .314 OBP.
