He may have less experience than most of his USSL Rookie peers, but that didn't slow Valerio Salviati down at all in 2042.

At the age of 20, the Capital Hill center fielder has been named the winner of the USSL Rookie Most Valuable Player Award.

He had a .308 batting average and a .334 on-base percentage this year. In 83 games he piled up 108 hits, 30 doubles, 4 triples, 9 home runs, 60 RBIs and 47 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 10. Calvin Myrick of the Capital Hill Interns finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Juan Martínez of the Montgomery Biscuits finished third.
