Lewis Gets Award for Relief Work

At the age of 19, Joel Lewis says he still has a lot to learn about life in USSL Rookie.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Bethlehem Angel Kitties reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2042 USSL Rookie Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Lahaina, Hawaii native said.

For the season, Lewis had 3 saves in 28 relief appearances, which totaled 49.2. He fanned 81 betters, while walking 6 and put up a record of 5-2 to go with his 1.09 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Augusto Jaramillo of the Flint Crush finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Yang-cheng Sang of the Bethlehem Angel Kitties finished third with 1 first place vote.
