SAA Outstanding Skipper Award Given to Drake Wednesday, October 8th, 2042 A baseball manager's success usually depends on the talent of his club, but in the case of Bernie Drake, he seems to have taken the Virginia Beach Whales to a higher level and gotten his just due. He was named this season's Manager of the Year in the USSL Double A for leading the team to a very rewarding season. "Everyone on the team put in a lot of hard work this season," he told reporters. "It's always nice when it's acknowledged in some way." Drake led Virginia Beach to a second place finish in the Silver AA. The Whales ended up with a 62-40 record. |
