Ghosts End Blanton's Streak Monday, September 15th, 2042 Lady Luck was not on the side of Gene Blanton or his teammates today at Rapiers Ballpark. Everything went the way of the Casper Ghosts, who not only came away with the 3-0 victory over St. Petersburg, but also held Blanton hitless in 4 at-bats to put an end to his 24-game hitting streak. "It was a good run," Blanton said afterward. "It would be much easier to take right now if we had won." Thus far this season in 93 games Blanton is batting .336 with 10 home runs, 67 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He has 129 hits in 384 at-bats. |
