Super Swinger -- Martin Slams 5 Hits Saturday, September 6th, 2042 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Donald Martin, it came around today. The 25-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over The Igloo to pace the Barton Springs Blues to a 17-2 victory over the Billings Polar Bears. Billings skipper Marvin Nelson told reporters in the press room that "Martin deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Martin hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Donald Martin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off António Gallegos in the 9th.
