Neváres Goes 5-for-6
Wednesday, May 28th, 2042
Juan Neváres put on a hitting clinic today as the Salt Lake City Buzz dumped the Pennsauken Flyers 9-5 at Pennsauken Park.
The Salt Lake City second baseman made Pennsauken defenders earn their pay, lashing Pennsauken pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Neváres said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Juan Neváres singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Thus far this season Neváres is hitting .422 with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 19 hits in 45 at-bats and has played in 9 games.
