Monongahela-Pennsauken Brawl, Allen and Salazar Suspended Saturday, August 23rd, 2042 After an intense confrontation, both the Monsters Colt Allen and the Flyers José Salazar were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Monongahela-Pennsauken game. Colt Allen will miss 3 games, while José Salazar was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Colt Allen commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Thus far this year Allen has hit .226 with 3 home runs and 27 RBIs. Salazar has gone to the hill for 22 relief appearances this season, nailing down 2 saves while notching a 1-3 record with a 3.73 ERA. The Pennsauken reliever has limited opposing batters to a .270 batting average. |
