Verkler's Condition Worse, Suffers Another Setback Sunday, July 27th, 2042 Al Verkler's return to the Monongahela Monsters has been delayed. The 27-year-old reliever has been in treatment for a rotator cuff strain and was responding well until he suffered sharp pains during a light workout. Upon examination by team doctors they reported that there had been further damage and Verkler will not be back as originally diagnosed. He will now be out at least one week. So far this season Verkler has worked 18 innings in 15 relief appearances with 6 saves. He has dished out 20 strikeouts and walked 8 with a 1-2 mark and a 2.00 ERA. |
