August's Top Starter Named in PA Monday, September 1st, 2042 There's something about a young rookie winning the USPL Single A Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Pepe Franco, a 22-year-old starter for the Rocky Mountain Vibes. In August, he topped off the month with a 4-1 mark and 1.04 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 26 innings, fanned 23 and held opposing teams to a .207 average. Franco has fashioned a 5-4 mark for the season, 1.31 ERA and thrown 61.2 innings in 11 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .198 against him. |
