Greenville Wins Game in Extras; On Verge of R2044
|
Matthew Fallows pitched well, but the Hollywood Shredders lost anyway, falling 4-3 in extra innings to the Greenville 84s at 84s Field. With the win, Greenville took a - lead in the best-of- Round 2043. Fallows was named player of the game after giving the Shredders 7.1 innings and allowing 3 earned runs.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman António Macías came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Facing Hollywood pitcher Binjimen Victor, he hit a full count fastball for a solo home run. It was a game-changer, putting Greenville on top, 4-3.
"We're not going to sweep 'em," Macías said in response to a question after the game. "Hollywood is too good not to take a game somewhere."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Kent Good for the Hollywood Shredders and Glenn Suggett for the the Greenville 84s.
