Almost There: Boston On Cusp of R2043 Triumph After 7-1 Win
|
Boston Patriots first baseman Juan Andrés Martí was the difference-maker at Dunkin Donuts Park today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Round 2043. The Patriots took the 7-1 win over the Pittsburgh Kingfishers to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
In the bottom of the fourth, Boston shortstop Juan Dávila had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and two out, Dávila stroked a 2-run home run to left-center. It made the score 4-1, Boston. For the game, he went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Dávila told a Boston Today reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Dunkin Donuts Park. Slated to start are Sjoerd Reynoud for the Pittsburgh Kingfishers and Nicky Bogdan for the the Boston Patriots.
