Orlebar Handcuffs Lighthouse, Evergreens Seize - Advantage in R2043
|
The Portland Evergreens moved to within one game of the Round 2044 today, downing the visiting Long Island Lighthouse at Evergreen Park by a score of 5-1. Evergreens left-hander Gerald Orlebar was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Evergreens a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2043.
Orlebar gave Portland a solid start. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits over 7 innings.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Portland manager Brandon Slouck. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The next game is scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd, 2042 at The Lighthouse in Hempstead. The scheduled starters for the game are Robert Smalls for Portland and Greg Hodge for Long Island.
