Love Boats Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 2
|
Richland Rails manager Fernando Mendoza took a gamble on 21-year-old starter Poom Saksansin. It paid off, but, unfortunately for the Rails, little else did.
Despite getting a poised performance from the young right-hander, the Rails lost 7-2 to the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats at Rails Ballpark today. With the win, Lake Minnetonka took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-5 3L AA Championship.
Lake Minnetonka used the timely hitting of Francisco Obando to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Love Boats on top, 6-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Obando told the Lake Minnetonka Chronicle.
