Nobles Hammered by Bunschoten, Drop Game 2 to Humpbacks
|
With third baseman Christiaan Bunschoten leading the charge, the Alaskan Humpbacks defeated the visiting Bakersfield Nobles, 6-4, in Game 2 of the PL AAA Championship today. Bunschoten went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 at Sea World to help Alaskan force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Alaskan center fielder Marc Hayman contributed to the cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Hayman was 1-3 with a walk.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Bunschoten told the Alaskan Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday. Slated to start are Javier Montés for the Alaskan Humpbacks and Pete Rhue for the the Bakersfield Nobles.
