The Long Island Ducks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Ladue Rams on the road at Ballpark of Wellsville by a score of 2-1. Ducks right-hander Katsumoto Ine was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Ducks a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 PL R Championchip.

Ine earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Long Island. The native of Osaka, Japan allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 8. Ladue hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.

"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Long Island manager Luis Ruíz told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the PL R Championchip, it's only going to get harder."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Wellsville. The scheduled starters for the game are Byung-hyun Kim for the Long Island Ducks and Andrei-Luiz Dawang for the the Ladue Rams.
