Chuter Handcuffs Ducks, Rams Seize 1-0 Advantage in R1

Their bats were silent and Ladue had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Rams struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 19-year-old starter Tim Chuter. The right-hander quieted the Long Island Ducks at Ducks Park to help Ladue take the 2-1 decision and seize a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL R Championchip.
Chuter allowed no earned runs on 5 hits over 7 innings for the Rams. He walked 1 and struck out 5.
"Tim did a tremendous job," said Ladue manager Dave Parrish.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Ducks Park in East Hampton. Slated to start are Nathan Eldridge for the Ladue Rams and Jae-ho Kan for the the Long Island Ducks.
