Seahawks Even With Vibes After Extra-Innings Win
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks went the distance and then some at Bellevue Field today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Rocky Mountain Vibes.
It took 10 innings to settle Game 2 of the PL A Championship, but Myrtle Beach eventually took the 4-1 win behind the efforts of starting pitcher and player of the game Alan Haas. Haas threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball to aid the Myrtle Beach cause. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-5 series.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of John Allen to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Seahawks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Allen. "I like it."
Game 3 is set to be played Friday, September 12th, 2042 at Seahwaks Stadium in Myrtle Beach. Slated to start are Ulbert Pals for Rocky Mountain and Carlson Foolscrow for Myrtle Beach.
