Interns Win to Tie Series with Baby Blues
|
The Capital Hill Interns and the Quebec City Baby Blues will take the SL R Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Interns beat the Baby Blues 7-2 at Dylan Park to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Capital Hill right-hander Vladsislas Meierhold was named player of the game in the win after he threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs.
Capital Hill relied on the hitting of Ernesto Pájaro to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the second inning to put the Interns on top, 3-1. For the game, Pájaro had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pájaro. "And not try to do too much."
Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday, September 14th, 2042 at Alouettes Ballpark in Washington. The scheduled starters for the game are George Butler for the Quebec City Baby Blues and Miguel Pérez for the the Capital Hill Interns.
