Laredo Takes Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The Laredo Hawks moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Levittown Blue Dragons at Hawks Field by a score of 2-1. Hawks right-hander Dan Carter was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Hawks a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-5 SL A Championship.

In the bottom of the fourth, Laredo third baseman Woody Maxwell had a productive at-bat. With the bases empty and no one out, Maxwell stroked a solo home run to left-center. It made the score 2-1, Laredo. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a home run.

Blue Dragons manager Félix Cruz did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the SL A Championship."
