The Laredo Hawks started the SL A Championship in style today, winning on the road against the Levittown Blue Dragons at The Cave at Levittown by a score of 4-1 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Hawks right-hander Gavriil Wolfson was named player of the game after he threw 7 innings of shutout ball.

Wolfson allowed no runs over 7 innings. He also racked up 7 strikeouts.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Wolfson told the Laredo Daily News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Cave at Levittown in Levittown. Slated to start are Matt Cornett for the Laredo Hawks and Francisco Díaz for the the Levittown Blue Dragons.
