BC Even With Yellows After Home Win
|
The Put-In-Bay BC and the Yucca Valley Yellows will take the 3L A Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the BC beat the Yellows 7-5 at Put-In-Bay Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Put-In-Bay right-hander Kunimatsu Uchida was named player of the game in the win after he threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball.
In the bottom of the fifth, Put-In-Bay designated hitter Bang-xao Li had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Li stroked a 2-run double to left. It made the score 6-0, Put-In-Bay. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Uchida said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday. The scheduled starters for the game are Jason Reynolds for Put-In-Bay and Ryan Riley for Yucca Valley.
