When the games really matter, the Sioux Falls Red Pandas put on their best show, beating the Milton Dogfish Head by a final score of 8-5 today. Mauro Jasso earned player of the game honors, as he hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Sioux Falls now leads Milton 1-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

Sioux Falls used the timely hitting of Daniel Maldonado to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Red Pandas ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Maldonado.

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Milton Corner Tavern in Milton. The scheduled starters for the game are Sergio Gómez for Sioux Falls and Ena Tuuta for Milton.
